As an experienced Illinois Adoption Attorney, I have completed over two thousand adoptions in Illinois. All adoptions filed in Cook County are filed at the Daley Center downtown Chicago. The other court houses throughout Cook County (such as Rolling Meadows, Skokie, Markham, Maywood, Bridgeview) are not set up to hear adoption cases.

 

Even if you do not live in Cook County you may be able to file an adoption in Chicago, Cook County or one of the other Counties that I practice in. While all adoptions filed in Illinois follow the same Illinois Adoption laws, the adoption procedures and the adoption court costs vary county to county. It is important to consider all of your venue options to decide which county

makes the most sense for your family.
